David is an Emmy-nominated producer, executive and entrepreneur in digital and traditional media. He is the CEO/Founder of Canvas Media Studios, driving new financial and distribution models for storytelling on digital, television, and social platforms. Canvas’ first series VANITY was financed by Maybelline NY and distributed as short-form episodes on YouTube, licensed internationally as linear television and nominated for an Emmy Award.
David recently expanded to Washington DC, applying his experience in storytelling and content strategy to the intersection of media, advocacy and politics. He is an advisor and consultant for DC-based ICX Media, which provides cross-platform data driven video intelligence.
Prior to Canvas, David was a content strategist for legacy media networks including ABC, PBS and Starz. He was one of the first crossover digital media pioneers, launching the interactive branded content video website ChannelBlast, at the same time as the beginning of YouTube and the digital revolution.
In television, David has developed and produced programming for all major networks, and has been involved with hit series’ that have won over 20 Emmy Awards and over 70 Emmy Nominations. He was a senior executive and producer for Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment, and television powerhouse Carsey Werner Company (THAT 70S SHOW, 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN, GRACE UNDER FIRE )
