Job Description

Hearst Magazines is seeking an Entertainment Manager to book celebrities and notables for print and digital cover stories, entertainment features, and video franchises for several key brands across Hearst’s portfolio. This person should have a passion for pop culture and entertainment across all media – music, television, film, theater, and digital – with strong contacts and relationships in these worlds. Ideal candidates will have a keen understanding of current events, the entertainment industry, and the evolving print, digital and video media landscape. The Entertainment Manager will be an integral member of the Talent team and will report to the Executive Director of Talent. Responsibilities: • Negotiate bookings, including print and digital covers and features, videos, social media takeovers, and events • Work closely with magazine and site/video leads to create opportunities for celebrity features and coverage • Leverage current bookings to secure content for multiple brandsacross Hearst’s portfolio • Bring celebrities into the office regularly for interviews, photo shoots, and to film original videos • Work closely with video and editorial teams to come up with creative, buzzy concepts for celebrity content • Liaise with the photo department on all talent shoots to ensure a seamless execution Requirements: • At least 3-5 years as a talent booker, with print, digital, and video experience • Deep network of contacts in the entertainment field • Must be innovative, experimental, and collaborative • Comfortable using digital metrics • Extensive experience booking talent for video and ideating franchises that perform • Good judgment as to what works to drive audience and buzz • Excellent at producing content with digital-friendly language • Bachelor’s degree
